 The Dutch Bank of Spain has agreed to loan the government of  Cameroon FCFA 21 billion for the transformation of a Yaounde  municipal lake which has been an eyesore to the city dwellers  for years. The accord giving the government of Cameroon the whooping sum  was signed in Yaounde Tuesday September 13. It was Minister Louis Paul Motaze of the Ministry of the Economy,  Planning and Regional Development who signed the agreement on  behalf of the government Cameroon while Antonio Navarro-Escabias  did same for the Dutch Bank of Spain. The loan Motaze said at the signing ceremony will be for the first  phase of transformation of the municipal lake. It will equally see the construction of a five star hotel with a capacity 80 rooms,  a restaurant and commercial space amongst others. Also, part of  the money will be used for the treatment of the water at the  municipal lake.

The Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguélé has dismissed  some eight police trainees at the Police Training Centre in Mutengene for falsifying documents. The order dismissing them is contained in a communiqué signed last week in  a bid to check fraud and malpractices in public institutions. It is worth noting that, two other police trainees were laid off from the  training centre early August 2016 for unacceptable behaviour, considered  unhealthy to the national security corps. A related act was reported on August 18, 2016 when an Inspector of Police  was fired from the school for indiscipline and poor conduct. According to the Delegate General, the fake documents of the eight trainees  were uncovered thanks to a commission put in place to review the status of each trainee and ensure order at the training centre.

Daniel Richard Assako popularly known by his stage name DON ChaeuLe is  a Cameroonian who was born in Limbe and he hails from the South West  Region of Cameroon. He attended his primary, secondary and higher  education in CS Buea Town, Bishop Rogan College and University of Buea respectively. He spends most of his life in Buea albeit commuting to Douala and Yaounde.  Music had always been in him ever since his secondary school days  in Bishop Rogan where he earned the stage name he currently uses:  DON CHAEULE. He wrote his first song in 2004 and equally had a couple of unreleased tracks from the period 2008-2010.  He worked with the likes of Alo J, Samuel Lee and Lynx in the now defunct Rogan Kings Studios in Molyko. He travelled to the United Kingdom in 2013 to pursue a MBA in  Finance from the University of Gloucestershire. He obtained the  degree in 2015. He worked for some time with a finance firm in  London as a cashier and equally did some administrative work

 Achalle Denis Atem, a.k.a Starboy Achaley, who died July 27, in Limbe at the age of 30,  will begin his final journey into eternity on Friday September 23, family sources have said. Achaley’s mortal remains will be removed from the Limbe Regional Hospital Mortuary in  the afternoon of September 23, a family member disclosed, adding that the corpse will be  laid in state thereafter at the deceased’s grandfather (Late Pa Valentine Bende)’s house at  Cassava Farms Limbe; where Achalle grew up. Achaley’s corpse will also be laid same  day at Community Field for public viewing.  Going by a definitive funeral programme we obtained, on Saturday September 24 , Achaley’s corpse will be taken to Catholic Church New Town Limbe for a  requiem mass. Burial is scheduled to take place immediately after the holy mass.  A partnership agreement has been signed between the Cameroon government  and the Portuguese bus construction company, Irmaos Mota Trans Africa for the provision of urban buses to Cameroon. The agreement was signed Tuesday, August 30, in Yaoundé.  The Portuguese company  will provide Cameroon with 150 ultramodern air-conditioned buses to be used for urban transportation in the cities of Limbe and Yaoundé only.  While endorsing the agreement, Transport Minister, Edgard Alain  Mebe Ngo’o went further to disclose that the total cost of the project stands at 17 billion FRS and will run for 10 years. The government of Cameroon, as per the agreement will own 10% of the shares and will subsidies transportation fares  for Cameroonians amounting to some 1.7 billion FRS CFA, the Minister revealed. Other aspects of the contract include the construction of 26  bus terminals in Yaoundé, 579 bus computerized bus stops,  video surveillance and radio communication. Each bus will  have 39 seats whil
